Frequently asked questions

Does ToolsPix upload my images to a server?

No. All compression happens locally in your web browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never sent to any server, and nothing is stored or logged. Your files stay on your device at all times.

Which image formats are supported?

ToolsPix Compress Image supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP files. You can compress multiple images at once, even mixing different formats in a single batch.

How much can I compress an image?

Results vary depending on the original file and the quality setting you choose. In most cases, you can expect a 40–80% reduction in file size at the 75% quality setting, with minimal visible difference to the human eye.

Is there a file size or number limit?

There are no hard limits imposed by ToolsPix. Since compression runs in your browser, very large files may be slower depending on your device's memory and processing speed. For best results, compress images under 20MB each.

Will compression affect my image quality?

Compression always involves a trade-off between file size and image quality. At 75% quality (the default), most people cannot notice a difference compared to the original. If quality is critical, try 85–90%. If file size matters most, try 50–65%.

What is the output format after compression?

JPEG and WebP files are compressed and downloaded as JPEG. PNG files with transparency are kept as PNG. The filenames will have "-compressed" added so you can easily tell them apart from your originals.
