How to Use the Scientific Calculator

ToolsPix Scientific Calculator covers the full range of functions you need for mathematics, science and engineering — trigonometry, logarithms, powers, roots, factorials and mathematical constants. Everything runs in your browser with no signup or installation required.

Why use ToolsPix Scientific Calculator?

  • Completely free with no account, no app to install, and no data collected.
  • Supports both DEG and RAD angle modes for trigonometric functions.
  • Full keyboard support so you can type expressions at full speed.
  • Calculation history stores up to 50 entries you can recall with a single click.
  • Handles edge cases: auto-closes brackets, catches division errors, avoids floating-point display artifacts.

How to use the calculator

Click the function buttons or type on your keyboard to build an expression. Use the DEG/RAD toggle to set the angle unit before entering trigonometric values. Press = or Enter to evaluate. Click any entry in the History panel to recall that result for further calculations. Press AC or Escape to clear and start fresh.

FAQ

How do I use trigonometric functions on this calculator?

Click sin, cos, or tan to open a function call, enter the angle value, then press = to evaluate. Use the DEG/RAD toggle at the top of the display to switch between degree and radian input. Inverse functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹) work the same way.

What is the difference between DEG and RAD mode?

DEG mode interprets angles in degrees (0–360). RAD mode interprets angles in radians (0–2π). For example, sin(90) in DEG mode returns 1, while sin(π/2) in RAD mode also returns 1. The mode only affects trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions.

Does the scientific calculator support keyboard input?

Yes. You can type digits 0–9 and the decimal point, use + − * / ^ ( ) and % for operators, press Enter or = to evaluate, Backspace to delete the last character, and Escape to clear all. Keyboard shortcuts work the same as clicking the on-screen buttons.

How does the calculation history work?

Every completed calculation is saved to the History panel on the right. The panel stores up to 50 entries, newest first. Click any history entry to recall its result into the calculator input so you can continue building on a previous answer. Use the Clear button to wipe all history entries.

How do I calculate powers and roots?

Use x² to square a number, x³ to cube it, and xʸ to raise a number to any power — type the base, press xʸ, then type the exponent and press =. For square roots press √ then the number. For cube roots or other roots use xʸ with a fractional exponent such as 1/3.
