FAQ
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. ToolsPix processes your PDF files locally in your browser using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. Files are never transmitted to any server, never logged, and never seen by anyone but you.
Is there a file size limit for PDFs?
There is no fixed limit imposed by ToolsPix. The practical ceiling is your device memory — typically a few hundred MB on desktop and around 100 MB on mobile. Very large or scanned PDFs may slow down older devices.
Can I merge PDFs in a specific order?
Yes. After selecting files, drag items in the file list to set the merge order before clicking Merge. The output PDF preserves the order you set.
Does this tool work with password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked before processing. ToolsPix never stores passwords. We recommend unlocking with the original tool you used to encrypt the file, then merging the unlocked copies.
Will the output PDF work with Adobe Acrobat and other readers?
Yes. The output is a standards-compliant PDF that opens correctly in Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Foxit, Chrome's built-in viewer, and any other reader that supports modern PDF.
